COVID 19 Disclosure

IMPACT is focused on thriving and being a viable resource during and after COVID-19. We have seen a decrease in individual donations as a result of the pandemic. Several grants we were hoping to receive were redirected due to COVID. Unfortunately, we laid off one employee, decreased hours to part-time, and as the CEO, took a drastic pay cut. IMPACT is currently operating with 3 part-time staff and 4 contractors. About 12 volunteers have remained faithful donating their time. Our hope is to use funds to support our 3 part-time positions, and expand our capacity. We will provide stipends to an intern and add two contractors.

By making these staffing/consulting increases, staff can have more time to execute general duties with programming and administrating, and also provide more hours in the capacity building project. Specialized contractors will be able to work on key components of capacity building including fundraising, grant writing, and launching a capital campaign. Other contractors will continue to work in programming expanding the reach into the community among youth, schools, and families. This will help to expand the mission as this area is in need of the training and social emotional supports our programs provide.

IMPACT’s Capacity Building Plan includes an assessment of the effectiveness and future sustainability of our organization by the staff, board, current participants/parent and alumni. We are focused on the changes and improvements that will improve our strengths to fulfill our  mission for the future in light of COVID changes. We are determined to enhance our ability to have a positive impact on lives and communities we serve.

We will focus on intervention, holistic programming, and overall performance in all sectors of the organization administration, operations and engagement. The IMPACT Capacity Building Plan centers around Vision and Impact with the following being improved to remain in line with our vision and mission: governance and leadership, program delivery, resource generation, fundraising/grant writing, internal operations and management, evaluation and learning, and strategic relationships. A core group is doing a S.W.O.T. analysis to redefine these areas with a racial equity lens, cultural awareness, and the mandates of a new funding arena.
