BERNADETTE LEWIS

Support Team

Picture
Bernadette Lewis has been active in social services for more than 25 years. Lewis is a Chicago native, originally from the city’s West Side. She says she has a heart for the community and is looking forward to IMPACT’s future.

Her stepping stone into the industry came when she was hired as the day camp director at her local church in the Roseland community. The programs and activities she created led to youth engagement that would help them improve different learning techniques.

Her classes allowed students to explore different styles of learning like memorization, small group learning, and drawing to name a few. This also transitioned into the youth having the ability to work as teams and improve their social skills and academics.

In the early 2000s, she would become the Mobile Medical Unit Community coordinator at the Christian Community Health Center. All of the experiences gained from before and then would only get her ready for her next step…

When Lewis joined IMPACT all of her passions and interests were merged. She looks forward to work every day because not only does she manage the food, quality, and distribution, but she helps guide the youth and offers a listening ear so that they know they will be heard.

Lewis also helps to prepare the Mentor Wednesday meals every week.
